Swedish Massage
Swedish is a Western style of bodywork typically done on a specialized table with the client unclothed and
draped with a sheet; only the area being worked is uncovered and an oil or lotion is usually used. However,
the basic Swedish techniques are used in various modalities of bodywork. Below are the modalities I currently
offer using Swedish massage techniques:

Relaxation Massage
Experience bliss as all the tension and stress of the day is smoothed and kneaded away. You'll relax
unclothed to your comfort, and modestly draped on a padded (and heated!) table, with soft lighting and
soothing music. Forget your troubles while at the same time giving your body the care it requires to
maintain or improve your health and wellness!

             60 Minutes - $60
             90 Minutes - $90

     Therapeutic Massage
While all bodywork has therapeutic properties, the goal of this service is to address specific issues or
complaints you may have such as sore muscles due to recent outdoor activities or past injuries.
Be sure
to consult your primary care provider first if you are experiencing new pain or discomfort, and verify that
it is OK to receive massage.

I will begin each session by warming up all of the muscles in and around the area of complaint, then
gradually begin to locate the muscles involved. My movements will be very slow as I may be working on
some deep lying muscles and therefore
it is extremely important for you to communicate with me
at all times regarding the pressure, tenderness, and location I am working in
.

I may suggest/utilize cupping (see below) during the session, provide suggestions such as stretching for
self care, and will encourage you to drink plenty of water to flush out toxins from the muscles and to
decrease any soreness caused by the work. If you choose a 60 or 90 minute session, I may have time
to provide general relaxation massage to other areas of the body for a more balanced effect. Some
issues may need more than one visit to see an improvement; please ask me about discounts for multiple
     sessions.

             30 Minutes - $40
             60 Minutes - $70
             90 Minutes - $100

     Clothed Table Session
Relax on the massage table fully clothed, while I use rocking, compression, tapotement (light pounding
with loose fists), and gentle stretching to release tight muscles and make you feel more grounded and
energized at the same time. This is perfect if you don't have a lot of time, or prefer to remain clothed. No
     oil is used.

             30 Minutes - $30

     Chair/Seated Massage
A special massage chair is used allowing you to sit in a natural position. No oil is used. You remain fully
clothed and receive a 5 to 15 minute massage utilizing compression and kneading techniques on the
back, shoulders, neck, head, arms and hands. This is a wonderful option for someone who is interested
in a basic introduction to massage, or who just wants a quick pick me up without any fuss. It's also a
great idea for parties, and baby or bridal showers. Chair massage makes a great "thank you" for your
bridal party as well! I can even come to your wedding suite the day of!

             In office: 15 Minutes - $15
On site: 2 Hr. Minimum - $70/hr. (Please call or email for this service.)

Shiatsu Bodywork
Traditionally performed on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed, this Eastern/Japanese form of
massage is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Similar to Acupuncture, Shiatsu works special points on
the body that sit along energy pathways called "meridians". However, instead of utilizing needles the
practitioner uses the palms and finger tips to stimulate the points. This, combined with gentle stretching
encourages the smooth flow of energy or "Ki". No oil is used. May be adapted to the table. I have been
formally trained in:

     5 Element Shiatsu
This form of bodywork follows the philosophy that all of the body's organs and functions correspond to
one of the 5 Chinese elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water or Wood). Energy imbalances within these
elements can manifest as problems in the related organ functions. Energy, or Ki, that supports the
body's functions, runs along meridian lines throughout the body. Shiatsu balances the autonomic
nerves in order to improve organ function, relax the nervous system and muscles, and help to realign
bone structure. It increases circulation of bodily fluids and nutrients, thereby rejuvenating the body and
improving all functions. Elimination of harmful toxins and body waste is also stimulated. Not to mention
that with the incorporated stretches, Shiatsu it is a great way to improve your flexibility!

Afterward you may experience a sense of relaxation, rejuvenation and an overall feeling of well-being. If
you have specific complaints you'd like addressed with Shiatsu, I ask that you fill out the
Shiatsu Intake
Form. This will help in tailoring future sessions to your needs. I may suggest/include cupping (see
below) during the session. Please ask me about discounts for multiple sessions.

             60 Minutes - $60
             90 Minutes - $90

Complementary Service:
This service may be used in addition to, or combined with the above massage/bodywork services to improve
the experience or heighten the benefits. It is not available as a stand alone service at this time.

     Cupping
This is a free service that I may suggest during a session if I feel some extra help is needed for difficult
knots. Massage normally is done with "positive" pressure where pressure is added to the body when the
therapist uses her hands to push on the tissues. Cupping uses "negative" pressure by pulling up on the
     tissues through suction.

Cupping comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and uses suction created inside of a glass cup to
draw blood and Ki (energy) to the surface and into the muscles. This brings oxygen to tight muscles
which in turn helps the muscles to relax and improve function. I use a hand pump to place special valved
glass cups in stationary positions on knots, and other tight areas of your back and shoulders. The cups
remain on for anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes to ensure that plenty of oxygen rich blood has been
     pulled into the tissues.

Please note: This therapy will leave round marks on the body that may take up to a week or longer to
fade, and you may look like you were hugged by an octopus!
